This is a short tech showcase of a tactical RTS template that I have been working on for 001 Game Creator.
MAIN FEATURES
// Support for hand-built and generated maps; on map entry, the map is analyzed and "tactical positions" are automatically generated for AI use in game. Users focus on building the map using tiles and don't need to alter AI logic at all.
// Multiple Unit Selection System (MUSS) that supports both 3D and 2D camera views with classic and modern selection boxes.
// Unit Grouping System that easily allows players to sort and select mass groups at ease.
// Advanced Movement System for modern combat applications that supports group move, tactical movement, and active waypoint mapping. Unit spacing can be actively adjusted for more effective CQB or long-range applications.
// Modern Tactical Combat AI System with automatic retreat, hide, and recover mechanics. Units utilize smoke grenades and frag grenades. Injured units can be picked up and dragged to safety.
// Realistic FOW and Vision system that prevents units from seeing enemies that are behind cover. This allows stealth movement. AI engagement range can be adjusted via global variable to allow player units to spot the enemy earlier and allow for planned engagements.
